FinTech Industry Entrepreneur Chris Aguas Honored at Big Connect EXPO

– New Haven, Conn. – CoreChain Technologies, the digital B2B payments network built on blockchain, today announced that its founder and CEO, Chris Aguas, has been named Entrepreneur of the Year by the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce. The inaugural award was presented by David Salinas, CEO of The District, as part of the annual Big Connect EXPO taking place at the Omni New Haven Hotel. Ceremony attendees included Connecticut Lieutenant Governor, Susan Bysiewicz, and actor Michael Jai White.

“When we think of New Haven, we think of innovation, creativity, and the development of cutting-edge technology. Over the past year, we have seen these qualities and tremendous growth in CoreChain Technologies,” said Garrett Sheehan, President & CEO of the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce. “Chris has demonstrated significant growth and long-term potential for his company, and devotion to growing the New Haven tech community. We’re honored to recognize Chris’ dedication with the Entrepreneur of the Year Award. We look forward to CoreChain Technologies continued success in the future.”

Using enterprise blockchain technology to power B2B payments and financing, CoreChain is streamlining the manual processes and painful reconciliation that has remained static for decades, while mitigating fraud. CoreChain also unlocks lending opportunities to finance the working capital being held in unpaid invoices that age towards settlement due dates, frequently 30 to 120 days in arrears.

Since its launch in September 2020, CoreChain has processed over $500 million in B2B payments for enterprise buyers, including channel customer transactions. Available as a white label platform, CoreChain allows any ERP or Business Process Automation software company, or even banks and other payment networks, to offer a digital B2B payments solution to its enterprise clients.

“It’s a tremendous honor to be recognized by the Chamber and the members of New Haven’s business community,” Aguas said. “We’re proud to be a New Haven-based business that’s helping shine a spotlight on the local tech community. We have worked extremely hard to carve out an important role for ourselves in the B2B payments ecosystem. It’s nice to see that there’s a valued role for us here in New Haven as well.”
